(According to Divine Order, Placements, and Purpose)
As a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, intercession is not optional—it is evidence. It is proof that the love of God has taken root in our hearts and is actively flowing outward. Intercession is love kneeling before God on behalf of others.
“The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
— Romans 5:5
When God’s love fills a man, it must express itself. One of its highest expressions is intercession.
1. What Intercession Truly Is (Divine Perspective)
Intercession is standing in the gap—legally, spiritually, and lovingly—before God for people, territories, systems, and generations.
“I sought for a man among them who would make a wall and stand in the gap before Me…”
— Ezekiel 22:30
Intercession is not noise.
It is alignment.
It is cooperation with heaven.
Jesus Himself lives as an intercessor:
“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost… since He always lives to make intercession for them.”
— Hebrews 7:25
If Christ intercedes, then those who follow Him must walk in the same pattern.
2. Intercession as Proof of God’s Love in Us
Love that does not intercede is incomplete.
“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
— Galatians 6:2
Intercession proves:
- You care beyond yourself
- You see through God’s eyes
- You carry God’s burden for people
“I urge… that supplications, prayers, intercessions… be made for all men.”
— 1 Timothy 2:1
When you intercede, you are saying:
“Lord, what concerns You concerns me.”
That is love.
3. Divine Order: How Intercession Flows Correctly
God is a God of order, not emotional chaos.
“Let all things be done decently and in order.”
— 1 Corinthians 14:40
Divine Order of Intercession:
- God first – Worship and alignment
- Self – Purification and surrender
- Family – Immediate stewardship
- Church & leadership
- Nation & systems
- World & generations
Jesus modeled this order in John 17.
Intercession that ignores order becomes exhausting.
Intercession that follows order becomes powerful.
4. Placements: Interceding from Where God Has Positioned You
You are not placed randomly.
“God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.”
— 1 Corinthians 12:18
Your placement determines your intercession assignment:
- A businessperson intercedes for commerce and integrity
- A parent intercedes for lineage and destiny
- A leader intercedes for direction and protection
- A Nigerian intercedes for Nigeria
- A believer placed globally intercedes beyond borders
You must pray from your location, influence, and calling.
5. Purpose: Why God Calls Some to Intercede Deeply
Some believers are saved to preach.
Some are saved to build.
Some are saved to stand between heaven and earth.
“I have set watchmen on your walls… they shall never hold their peace day or night.”
— Isaiah 62:6
Intercessors:
- Prevent destruction
- Birth revivals
- Redirect nations
- Preserve destinies
They may be unseen—but heaven knows them.
6. Daily Habitual Intercessory Lifestyle (Actionable Guide)
Morning (Alignment)
- Worship for 5–10 minutes
- Pray: “Lord, align my heart with Yours today”
- Declare scriptures aloud (Psalm 5:3)
Daily Watchfulness
- Stay spiritually sensitive
- When someone comes to mind—pray immediately
- Turn news into prayer, not fear
“Pray without ceasing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Scheduled Intercession Time
- Set a fixed daily or weekly intercession hour
- Use a prayer list (family, leaders, nation, world)
- Pray scriptures, not emotions
Walking Love Practically
- Forgive quickly
- Speak life intentionally
- Carry people in prayer even when they offend you
“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
— Matthew 5:44
Night (Closure)
- Thank God for victories you didn’t see
- Commit souls and matters back to Him
- Rest—intercession is partnership, not pressure
7. Final Truth
Intercession is not weakness.
It is authority expressed through love.
“If God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”
— 1 John 4:11
And one of the highest ways we love is by standing before God for others.
When you intercede, you are proving:
- God’s love lives in you
- Christ’s nature is forming in you
- Heaven can trust you
This is divine order.
This is placement.
This is purpose.
